Zoom Class

Zoom yoga began as a way to connect during the Covid 19 lock down. It grew into a legitimate way to provide yoga to children and adults in different locations and time zones. The classes are ideal for individuals to practice together when living in different places or for groups to practice.

It is wonderful to be in person but removing commute times for busy families, baby sitting costs for the older kids, heading out in freezing temperatures, Zoom yoga certainly has its perks.

Zoom yoga is ideal for home daycare operators. As a previous home daycare provider myself organizing an activity in the afternoon for pre-school children while babies nap is always welcome. Zoom yoga is interactive, fun and the relaxation allows for this age group to find a new way to rest their bodies and minds while they are growing out of napping. Care givers get a break from creating programming and can relax and join in. It’s a win, win.

How does it work?

A series of 6 classes is a great way to begin. This introduces the routines and children can learn what to expect. I will discuss the content with parents/ caregivers prior to the class and plan ahead with any props needed. Most items children already have e.g., stuffed toy, ball etc. Printable sheets will be forwarded to you. Each week I will communicate with you what to expect and how to prepare.

A really fun class is a scavenger hunt with clues all hidden in your location or a stuffy animal of mine has wandered off, only to be found in your house. How crazy is that!!!! Young children find this concept magical. Classes are personal, interactive and created with your groups interests and ages in mind.

Video of a Zoom class

The video gives you an example of what a zoom class looks like and how it can engage small children. You will see my teaching style and themes.

The Zoom video was made in collaboration with Wesley Trowell of Video Input. Wes is a BA graduate of Music Production in Hull UK. Wes received support as he has Cerebral Palsy. He loves all kinds of music and creative interests and doesn’t let his disability define him. This video was part of his 3rd year submission. Making it was a great experience.
